This is another of my rare finds - a holiday rental in the fabulous mediaeval town of Pezenas, with private swimming pool and terrace, only 300m from the town centre!

MY OPINION

This elegant, restored holiday townhouse in Pezenas belongs to a very nice man who lives abroad. He had the house fully renovated a few years ago and it has been done to a high standard.

You really can't beat the location - and it's worth it. Views over vineyards, only 300m from the start of all the shops, cafes and restaurants in Pezenas. You don't even need a car.

The house has four bedrooms, but you should only consider using the top bedroom for children of a certain age, or if you're reasonably fit and agile, as the stairs to that floor are steeper.

So, it's basically a 4 bedroomed house with a pool, very elegant,
and it couldn't be closer to everything!

Spacious, great location, with many nice features.

THE LOCATION AND TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

CAR NOT NEEDED!
If you're flying here, the great news is that you don't even have to rent a car if you don't want to, because you'll be staying so close to the centre of Pezenas. I can organise a taxi or minibus to pick you up from the airport.

You could just use a taxi occasionally if you want to visit other places, or you could take a bus. The bus station is only 500m from the house. Obviously most guests will have a car, and there's parking outside the house.

Maison de Ville Pezenas is located on a quiet cul-de-sac road in Pezenas, only 300m from the town's most famous restaurant.

SHOPS, CROISSANTS, CAFES, RESTAURANTS, SUPERMARKET
There is an easy pedestrian walk to the mediaeval centre of Pezenas with its great selection of shops and restaurants.

AIRPORTS
Béziers airport is only 20 minutes away. There are three other airports within 90 minutes - I can advise you on travel arrangements.

If you are driving, the A75 autoroute is only 3 minutes away and toll-free from Clermont-Ferrand, except for the spectacular Millau Viaduct. The A9 autoroute is 10 minutes away; this and the A75 providing fast links to the many attractions abounding in the Languedoc-Roussillon and Cevennes areas.

There are bus services to Montpellier, Beziers and Agde (all of which have high-speed TGV train stations) and some of the surrounding villages. Bike hire is also an option as there's a hire shop in Pezenas.

"WHAT A GREAT FIND"

"We loved this house in Pezenas.

It was in a great location, only about 5 minutes walk from the centre of the town; it was really spacious, a bit like a tardis, we really didn't expect so much space, well equipped and had great outside space.

Bizarrely the outside space is actually in the first floor, not the ground floor. It has a very large enclosed paved area, including the swimming pool, with some areas covered by a roof, offering welcome shade.

Pezanas is a great town. It has a real buzz, with old cobbled back streets, with delightful small shops, a large market in Saturday, local wine tasting on a Friday (during July and August) and a great bar and cafe atmosphere.

All in all we loved it!

We've holidayed in France many times, but this really is the best yet, both the house and the location."
