The most important thing is to choose a region and then a boat or boats you like, based on the number of separate cabins you need.

1.   WHICH REGION OF FRANCE?
We specialise in the Canal du Midi and Burgundy, offering boating and barging holidays in the 2 best regions of France :-

  2. Central France - Burgundy, Nivernais, Saone, Loire

2.   HOW MANY CABINS? WHAT TYPE AND QUALITY OF BOAT OR BARGE?
Decide how many double and/or single cabins (bedrooms) you need.
Next think about what type of boat (traditional barge or modern cruiser) and what overall quality you like.

COMFORT AND QUALITY : You have 3 main 'Ranges' to choose from. In descending order of comfort and quality these are: 'Platinum', 'Gold', or 'Silver' range of boats. Each boat's 'Range' is stated top-right in its information box. Use the links below, and you can always remind yourself about the Range by clicking on the 'More Information' link in each boat's information box.
  1. Platinum Range : Excellent quality and service, lovely boats. Number 1 in our opinion.
  2. Gold Range : Good quality boats and a large fleet.
  3. Silver Range : Value boats, where budget is a major consideration.

Look at the length and width of the boats – choose the maximum you can afford. More cabins does not mean more living room and kitchen space. Often it means less communal space inside, but more space outside. You will spend a lot of time outside so this is important.

3.   PRICES AND GETTING A QUOTATION
Don't worry if this is your first time! About 50% of our clients are first-timers. We're here to help and make things easy for you.

  • PRICE : You will pay the direct price of the boat operators, with no mark-up from us.
    AND we offer 7-day per week hard-working, honest, and personal service!
  • In each boat's information box there is a link to the prices table.
  • Boats on each page generally start with the most comfortable and expensive first.
  • Which type(s) of boat do you like, when do you want one, and for how long?
  • Check the pricing pages for an approximate idea of cost.
  • Tell us about your group – ages, relationship between people, interests, etc.
  • We'll email (or phone you if you prefer) with availability, the latest best price, and our advice.
Many people assume there are hundreds of boats available. There are, but there are also thousands of people who want them!
It's a good idea to make contact as soon as you've followed Steps 1-3. We can then guide you and make the process of choosing your French boating holiday as easy as possible!

We're not 'hard sell' at all - in fact we're the opposite!  We'll give you good advice, we won't chase you for a decision, and we keep your contact details private and only for the purpose of your actual enquiry.

Our advice is not to worry about lots of details at this stage. There will be other decisions to make (which port, how to get to the region, which options and extras to include, etc) but if you start with the Steps 1-3 above we can help you with this!
