FOR YOUR EUROPEAN CRUISE ON THE CANAL DU MIDI

ON DECK: There is ample room for dining, a covered area for shade on those warm sunny Southern European days, and an area for enjoying your aperitifs while dinner is being prepared. There's also a canopy which covers the deck when the barge is moored, to give shade during your meal times.

INSIDE: The air conditioned salon and dining room were designed for conviviality. You will find a fully equipped bar, a well stocked library, a selection of DVD's and CD's, a station for your IPod and also an Internet connection for keeping in touch with friends and family back home. Large picture windows make it very bright and airy.

YOUR CABINS: When our friends converted their barge, they wanted a European canal and river cruise boat where guests would feel welcomed and at home. There are 3 air conditioned double cabins, two of which can be converted to have 2 single beds if preferred. Each cabin has a fully equipped bathroom with full sized shower. Beautiful French linens and handmade Irish quilts add to the luxury of your cabin.

YOUR HOSTS: Your Captain is French, he speaks very good English, and has a ready smile and amazing technical know how. He is well placed to guide you through your cruise on the canal or rivers, as he was born locally in Sete, the "Little Venice" of the European Midi from a long line of boat people.

His lovely wife is a warm Irish woman and a great chef!

The Captain's wife has embraced the European Mediterranean cuisine with enthusiasm. A major part of the barge's reputation is built on the excellence of the food and wines served aboard. She's a Catering College graduate who has also spent time in a French Relais Chateau. She loves sharing recipes and ideas with her guests over a glass of wine and her kitchen is always open. Her philosophy is to buy the best of ingredients, locally produced, fresh from the market and then to cook them with flair and imagination so that the flavor will live up to the presentation.

YOUR CREW: The other 2 crew members are a hostess to look after all your needs aboard, and a driver/tour guide who will take you out in the minibus each day. When choosing crew members, the owners place great importance on people who are interesting, knowledgeable, and friendly. They know when you want some quiet and when you want to be entertained. The atmosphere on board is relaxed and informal.
