These friendly day-trip canal cruises are for 1-11 guests, with commentary in English and French from your charming French Captain.
You will feel like a welcome guest on board, not like a tourist. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and informal.
Our boat's name Adagio means "in slow time", or literally "at ease" which is exactly what we hope you will feel !

If you only have an hour but want to experience the relaxing way of life on the Canal, this is our
“Canal du Midi Discovery Cruise”.
Your Captain will point out places of interest and will tell you a little of the history of the Canal and its construction. An inexpensive but lovely return cruise from Capestang, if you don't have much time.
One thing to mention - most people who do this 1-hour cruise wish they had chosen the 2-hour cruise instead!

B2 - 3 HOUR RESTAURANT LUNCH CRUISE
A lovely 3-hour cruise covering one of the nicest parts of the Canal du Midi, including a stop for lunch at a village restaurant.
From Capestang you will enter a meandering section of the Canal du Midi at its finest. You'll pass the hamlet of Viviés and cruise along the tree-lined Canal to the Pont de Tresille. From there the Canal bends south before coming to the village of Poilhes-la-Romaine, formerly a Roman settlement. There you'll stop for lunch, eating (normally on the terrace) at a family-run Canal village restaurant. The 2-course set-menu lunch includes main course, dessert and a glass of wine.
Then you'll cruise back to Capestang and see things you didn't notice on the way there - everything looks different on the way back!

A fabulous 6 hour day-trip - an afternoon cruise on Adagio with restaurant lunch, from Capestang to the lovely village port of Colombiers, then returning to Capestang. For those who want to spend longer on the Canal du Midi and experience much more.
This cruise covers one of the most beautiful lengths of the Canal du Midi, with commentary in English and French. You will go under the bridge at Tresille and onto the lovely village of Poilhes, a former Roman settlement. There you will stop for lunch at a typical, village, family-run restaurant, normally eating on the terrace.

You'll enjoy a 2-course set menu lunch - which includes main course, dessert and a glass of wine - and will have a short time time to look around the village.
After lunch you'll continue your cruise and will pass the Roman ruins at Oppidum d'Enserune, before entering the historic engineering achievement of the Tunnel de Malpas. This very old tunnel (built 1679) has a road overhead and the main train line underneath!
Then it's on to Colombiers, following the course of the tree-lined canal, seeing the large water areas and landscapes on your right. Whenever it's open you'll stop for a wine-tasting at a canal-side domaine before Colombiers. Then it's under the Pont de Colombiers into the bustling port itself. There you can either stop for a short while to explore, or Adagio can continue along the Canal a little further before turning around.
After Colombiers you'll cruise back to Capestang and see things you didn't notice on the way there - everything looks different on the way back! This cruise is perfect if you want to get a fuller Canal du Midi experience!
