"We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Villa Henri in Pezenas. The villa is in a perfect quiet location on the edge of town, an easy stroll into the bustling centre of Pezenas.

The house was very comfortable really well equipped with everything we could have needed. The owners have catered for every eventuality, from al fresco dining on the terraces and soaking up the sun by the pool to cosy nights in with a good book or watching TV.

Sara and Leigh, the owners, were really great to deal with and were very quick to reply to my many emails in advance of arrival. Their welcome was so warm and friendly and they couldn't do enough to advise us on things to do in the area.

We went on a brilliant wine tour organised by Sara and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We visited 2 domaines and even though it was busy harvesting season, Sara was able to organise for us to speak with one of the wine makers who was lovely and who explained the process and allowed us to taste the wine at the early stages of productions.

Pezenas is a truly charming medieval town, with a lovely atmosphere and lots of cobbled streets with many great restaurants and gorgeous little craft shops selling everything from handmade soap and art to textiles and wooden toys.

It was also a great base for discovering the wider area and a short distance from several great beaches. I could go on and on but I am afraid that Villa Henri will be booked out the next time that I want to visit - and I really hope that there will be a next time!"

Below is a list of things to see and do. It isn't a definitive list but it gives you a good idea of the type of things I offer. What you will actually do depends on the week you come and the other people who want to come in that week. Basically you all get to vote, and then we agree together a list which suits most of the people most of the time! You are NOT forced to do anything! This is your holiday and if you feel like staying at the villa one day, or going down to the town on your own, you can! It's YOUR well-earned holiday and I want you to be happy all the time.
Examples From My Excursions & Activities Menu Wine tours - visit 2 chateaux owned by our friends, see and learn how wine is made. Walk in the vineyards, talk to the winemakers, see the vinification process, taste the wines. "Oui Chef!" - A superb French cookery class from our French chef. Select produce locally with the chef, come back and prepare and cook a 3-course lunch! (I also run weekly South of France cookery course holidays, if you prefer that?) Try watercolour painting - a local artist will teach you and you'll go somewhere 'en plein air' to do this, or to his studio if the weather isn't kind. Maybe try pottery? A visit to a local pottery where you can do a 2-hour workshop with a local artisan. History tours - walled city of Carcassonne, mediaeval Pezenas, Roman ruins Eat each day at great restaurants - you will eat where we locals eat, and sometimes at the villa where you'll be staying. Visit to 'the Grand Canyon of France' as part of a French rural tour More natural beauty - the famous wild white horses of the Camargue Canal du Midi Lunch Cruise - great opportunity to see this UNESCO World Heritage waterway while enjoying a delicious meal Dinner evening in courtyard of beautiful old chateau Shopping tour - boutiques of all kinds depending on your interests! Arts and crafts tour of workshops of local artisans Visit to local painter's studio - coffee and talk with the artist Visits to olive farms, see how olive oil is made Rocquefort and goats cheese - see the caves, stroke the goats! Live music evening - then talk to charming young local composer Water sport activities such as a gentle canoe down a local river Horse-riding - short trek through the gorgeous Languedoc countryside Pleasure flight over Mediterranean coastline in a private aircraft Day trip to Barcelona in Spain - see some of the famous and wonderful Gaudi architecture Day trip - lunch at the Cafe de Paris in Monte Carlo, Monaco! There are other options - the vacation is tailored around the individual tastes and preferences of each person making up the group. And of course you will all have slightly different preferences. TO SUMMARISE: You send me an email and say that you're interested in an activity vacation in a particular month. When I have enough people interested in that time period, I suggest the week in that month which seems to suit most people. Then I ask you all to say the things you would most like to see or do. Then I put together a plan and try to please everyone! You don't have to do everything - your villa is a very short walk from the centre of fabulous Pezenas so you can go there for shopping or just stay at the villa, by the pool. However I'm sure you will want to try at least some of the things on offer!
